This function allows communication by SMS with customers.
It comes with tools that able you to:
- Personalize the text sent.
- Allows your customer to share with you their preferred channel of communication: Email or SMS.
- Option to send or not to send SMS for Online Check-in.
- Review Reports showing the numbers of SMS sent and for which communication (e.g. Diagnose overview).
- Put a specific phone number in the testing mode, so you can double check the text being sent.
Prerequisite
A SMS gateway account is required. For now we support the following gateways:
- Web 1on1: you can contact them at Care@web1on1.chat or via WhatsApp 020-8905727.
- Twilio: Contact us at support@claireit.eu to know more.
Activating
Once you obtained the proper credential from Web 1on1 or Twilio, contact us at
support@claireit.eu.
Personalizing the text in SMS templates
In order to modify the template you must have an account with Dealer admin role.
In the hamburger menu, under the customer comm section click Templates.
Select the template indicated as SMS in the channel column.
From this screen you can modify the text.
Note that any text between double curly braces {{ }}, pulled data from Claire.
Preferred channel
The advantages of the preferred channel feature is to indicate to you what is favourite channel to reach your customer but also when an automatic communication is being sent (i.e. Online Check-in) to indicate to our application if an Email or SMS should be sent.
Preferred channel selection can be done by your customer when they receive the Online Check-in:
It can also be set manually via the customer dashboard.
The selection will then be indicated on the customer communication modal by the icon below:
Option to send SMS for Online Check-in
You can also decide to send SMS or not at for Online Check-in. Go to the setting under Customer communication and toggle on or off the button indicated below:

Testing SMS
To test, open Setting and enable the testing mode and add the number.
